Rickshaw driver


I rise before the daylight shows up,
To stand near the station.
In hope of getting a traveler's sight
And drop him to his destination.

I expose myself to all the bearings, 
Monsoon, typhoon, gale or gust.
Providing you a protective shelter,
Safe-guarding you from the rain or dust.

I ride my rickshaw all day long,
To earn money for my existence.
Even when I'm sick or starving,
I have to cover that distance.

  1. It is good to feel from another perspective; what we think mostly these days is about how the auto is going to ram into our vehicle or take a quick turn giving us shock :)
    Some people are so hesitant to give even a small amount of money as fare; even those people who earn a lot - I wonder why. They don't realize that this is livelihood.

    Love how you have brought this as a poem :)
